China’s textile and apparel exports totaled $232.97 billion in January–September 2026, up 5.1% year on year, according to the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles. September exports reached $29.66 billion, rising 21.5% from a year earlier.

Textile exports amounted to $112.27 billion over the nine-month period. The chamber reported growth in both textiles and apparel, indicating that the overall increase extended across the two main product categories.

September’s year-on-year growth rate was substantially higher than the rate for the full nine-month period. This points to a stronger export performance in the latest reported month, although a single month’s result does not establish a sustained acceleration. The distinction matters for suppliers assessing whether stronger export activity is likely to translate into continuing demand.

The figures measure export value, so they do not by themselves establish how shipment volumes, selling prices or product mix contributed to growth. Nor does higher export revenue necessarily imply improved profitability for manufacturers. Businesses assessing the strength of demand would need to consider whether their own order volumes and margins are moving in the same direction.

Subsequent monthly export figures and separate growth rates for textiles and apparel will help show whether September’s pace continues and how evenly the gains are distributed. For now, the figures support a measured conclusion: exports increased over January–September, with September recording a markedly faster year-on-year rise.
